Classes

Classes are 8 week long sessions that meet once per week for 3 hours. During the 8 weeks students will learn elements that build upon each other in cohesive blocks that allow advancement through steps to graduate in skills and understanding of the craft.

Pricing:       $380 per person

Classes include:  

  • 25lbs of clay
  • Use of studio equipment
  • Glazes and firings

All students must bring their own 8-piece pottery tool kit (including a needle tool, small sponge, ,metal rib, wood rib, wood knife, small loop trimmer, large loop trimmer, and wire tool). This kit can be purchased for an additional fee from fm mason ceramics when enrolling, or you may opt to buy elsewhere. Basic tool kits are readily available online or at local ceramic or hobby stores.

Terms and Conditions:

If you know you will miss the first class of the session, it is recommended to sin up for a different session. Many fundamentals are taught on the first day that are used throughout the rest of the session. We offer make up classes when available but make up days are not guaranteed. No refunds can be given for classes that are missed.

If you cancel your registration more than 2 weeks before the start of class you will receive a refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations made 2 weeks or less before class starts. No refunds will be given for missed class days. All refunds are subject to a 15% fee. 

 

 

 

 

 

An Introduction To Clay 

Designed for the person who wants to learn aboaut clay. Learn how to tend to your pottery durng various stages as well as glaze your fired ware. You will make projects using soft and firm slab techniques, work with coils and learn about surface decoration, glazing and firing. 

 Class meets once a week for 8 weeks. Section I is on Wednesday mornings from 10:00am-1:00pm. Section II is on Wednesday nights from 6:00-9:00pm. 

All participants must be over the age of 18. You can only register one participant at a time during registration

Intermediate Clay

Review and Adding the Wheel

You must have taken the Beginners class or have approval with prior experience of basic knowledge of clay. 

Visual elements and principles of three-dimensional design. An introduction to the wheel traveling through cups, bowls and lidded containers. 

Classes meet once a week for 8 weeks All participants must be over the age of 18. 

Section I meets on Thursday mornings 10:00am-1:00pm. Section II meets on Thursday nights 6:00-9:00pm.

 

This class requires previous experience on the throwing wheel. Come sharpen you skills. Research a project, present it, design it and create it. These skills will broaden your abilities in finding your own creative voice in the ceramic art world.

Class meets once a week for 8 weeks. Section I Friday mornings 11:00am-2:00pm. Section II on Saturdays from 2:00pm-5:00pm
